Introduction

PlotPal ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using PlotPal, you agree to the terms of this policy.

What Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information when you register and use PlotPal: your full name, email address, lot number, and street address. We also collect the verification document you upload — either a sale contract or a council rates notice — solely for the purpose of confirming your lot ownership.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only to verify that you are a genuine resident or owner of your nominated lot, to enable community features including the estate map, community feed, and resident chat, and to communicate with you about your account or platform updates. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

Verification Documents

We understand that your verification document contains sensitive information including your purchase price and personal details. When uploading, our built-in redaction tool allows you to black out any sensitive information before submission. All verification documents are permanently deleted within one month of your verification being approved. Once deleted, only your verified status, name, and lot details are retained.

Who Can See Your Information

Other residents on PlotPal cannot see your verification document, purchase price, or personal contact details unless you choose to share them yourself. Your lot on the estate map will display only the information you have chosen to make visible on your profile.

Third Party Services

PlotPal uses a small number of trusted third party services to operate the platform. These include Supabase for secure data storage and Mapbox for interactive estate mapping. These providers may process certain data as part of delivering their services. We only share the minimum data necessary with these providers and require them to handle it securely.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Your data is stored securely and access is strictly limited to authorised PlotPal personnel only.

Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to any inaccurate information, and request that your personal information be deleted from our platform. Data Retention

Verification documents are deleted within one month of your verification being approved. Other account information is retained for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, your personal information will be deleted within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your personal information in a way that breaches the Australian Privacy Principles, you may contact us directly in the first instance. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
